Rwanda is a small country sometimes referred to as ‘’ The land of a Thousand Hills’’ due to very many green rolling landscape of hills mounted the country. Rwanda occupy an area of about 26,338 sq km (10,169sqmiles), with a total population of about 13 million (UN estimates 2013). Like its counterpart Uganda, Rwanda is also a landlocked country in the central Africa it has no sea port, It lies a few degrees south of the Equator. Rwanda neighbors countries like Uganda in the north, Burundi in the south, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the West and Tanzania in the East. The country is divided by great peaks of up to 3,000m (9,842ft) which run across the county from north to south. Rwanda is a very beautiful county with a moderate climate.  Kigali is the capital city of Rwanda which is located in the heart of Rwanda, its just 7kms from Kanombe international airport, so any traveler’s to Rwanda can’t get back without a Kigali city tour to visit very many attractive places within the city like the Kigali genocide memorial site, National museum among other many interesting places. it’s a very attractive small city with a fantastic variety of flowering trees and plants from various points on the edge, there are outstanding views over the intensively cultivated and terraced countryside. The mountains and hills seem to stretch forever and the abundant rainfall keeps them a rush green. The population is young and predominantly rural, with a density among the highest in Africa.

The altitude is less than 1500 meters in the eastern plateau but rising to between 1500 and 2000 meters in the west and north

The sun shine nearly all year round and whatever the season, the mean daily temperature is close to 24C (76F). The minimum night temperature ranges between 10 to 34C (94F)

The climate of Rwanda is made up of two wet seasons and two dry seasons, the short wet season lasts from October to November, and the main rainy season lasting from mid-march to the end of May. The wet season is when most of the landscape is green and good for viewing and this season is also good for tracking chimpanzee. During the dry season which last from December to mid-march and from June to end of August. The dry season is good for tracking mountain gorillas as the trails are passable, it’s also good for game drives in the Akagera national park as thirty draw most of the animals to the drinking points making it fortunate to view them in big number. Birding can be done at any season either wet or dry since in each season you can view plenty of them since the country is sometimes referred to as a birders paradise

Rwanda is gifted with very many natural wonders ranging from the rare mountain gorillas to birds. It’s one of the three countries the other two are Uganda and the Democratic republic of Congo to house these rare mountain gorillas in the world and its regarded the best safari destination for gorilla tracking, housing almost a half of the world’s population. Rwanda is also known as a birders paradise as it houses almost one third of Africa’s bird species, it houses over 13 species of primates the popular are the chimpanzee the most close relative of man sharing about 98% of human DNA make up other primate species include baboon, vervet monkey, mona monkey, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, grey checked mangabey just to mention but a few. Rwanda also houses very many Volcanoes, game reserve, resorts and islands on the expansive Lake Kivu, graceful dancers, artistic crafts and friendly people, plenty of wildlife among other all make Rwanda a worth to visit.
