Detailed itinerary 

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to your Hotel

On your arrival at Kigali international airport you will be met and welcomed by your safari guide who will transfer you to Kigali. If your flight arrives in the morning, you will have a chance to visit some of the interesting places around Kigali like the genocide memorial sites, national museum, and craft markets among others. Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe forest national park

This morning after breakfast, you will be driven to the south western part of Rwanda, on the way, visit the reconstructed king’s palace at Nyanza, visit also the Butare Museum and Murambi memorial site, after lunch in Butare continue with your journey with a scenic view up to the park. Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking

Early morning breakfast and then after follow the ranger guide to the forest to begin the search of our cousins’ chimpanzee. Chimps are fabulous fan to watch when playing in fruitful trees. Tracking time is unpredictable as it can go from 1-6 hours so a reasonable degree of fitness is required and you are also recommended to come with tracking gears such as strong shoes/boots, long sleeved shirts or blouses, bottled water. Ounce chimps are met you strictly allowed to stay with them for only one hour take as many photos as you can as well as observing their behavior. Other primate species can entertain you during chimp tracking like owl-faced monkey, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, more than 300 Colobus monkeys, mona monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys among others.  After comeback to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon, you may go for an optional nature walk. Day 4: Canopy walk:

This morning after breakfast you will go to the forest and enjoy another interesting activity that’s canopy walk one of its kind activity last from 1-2 hours however it depends on how often you stop on the way, go up to the end way and you come back however during the walk you will be fortunate to come close to several species of primates, birds, butterflies among other forest dwellers just meters from you. Come back at the lodge for lunch then after drive to Lake Kivu which is regarded one of the freshest lakes not only in the east but also in the central Africa. Enjoy beach activities like swimming, beach volley ball, boat drive to explore the nearby Islands, enjoy lunch on the lake and then after you will be transferred to Volcanoes national park. Dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel/Palm Beach Hotel

 Day 5: Depart to volcanoes national park

Have a morning breakfast and after drive to the north western part of Rwanda in Ruhengeri Musanze district up to volcanoes national park a home to the endangered mountain gorillas, arrive in time for lunch. After lunch you may decide to go for an optional community walk to meet the neighboring people to the park who will entertain you through their cultural dance and music and also pass you through their historical background. Day 6: Mountain gorilla tracking

Wake up early in the morning for a cup of tea/ coffee and later you will be transferred to the park headquarters at Kinigi before 7:00am to receive a short briefing about the process of gorilla tracking from the park officials and also gets you assigned to the park ranger and the group booked for. After the briefing, you will follow the ranger guide to the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding Virunga volcanoes to begin the activity possibly the most fascinating activity done at the park. The trekking is a demanding but rewarding experience, you are remained to come with your tracking gears such a sturdy pair of tracking shoes/boots, long sleeved shirts or blouses, enough bottled water and packed lunch as tracking time is unpredictable meeting gorillas depends on their movements in their natural environment. Ounce these giants are met you are strictly allowed to stay with them for only one hour observing their behaviors as well as taking as many photos as you can(flash cameras are not allowed).

Day 7: Golden monkey tracking

Wake up very early for a cup of tea/coffee and later the guide will head you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while with these endangered golden monkeys, after follow the ranger guide to the tropical rain forest to begin the activity. These monkeys are regarded one of the most interesting primate species to track and are considered one of the most beautiful primates on earth. Just like gorillas tracking time is unpredictable it can go from 30 minutes to eight hour so a reasonable degree of fitness is needed together with sturdy tracking shoes/boots. They are fabulous fan to watch when jump from tree to tree, ounce they are met you strictly one hour with them. After come back at the lodge for dinner and an overnight at (luxury) Sabyinya Silverback Lodge, Gorilla Nest Lodge/ (Midrange) Le Bombou Lodge/ (Budget) Kinigi Guest House

Day 8: Departure

Wakeup leisurely for a hearty breakfast, after you will be transferred back to Kigali, if you missed the Kigali city tour on the first day go for a city tour, visit places like the national museum, Kigali genocide memorial center, market places, pottery projects if time allows. Have lunch en route and then after proceed to the airport to meet your departure flight back home
